Raspi 2 - again

Hi,

I tried to create an image for the raspi2 using mvo's u-d-f. Running

  sudo ubuntu-device-flash \
	core 16 \
	--channel=edge \
	--os=ubuntu-core \
	--kernel=canonical-pi2-linux  \
	--gadget=canonical-pi2 \
	-o test.img

fails with

  failed to install "canonical-pi2" from "edge": cannot open snap:
  unknown header: "hsqs \x00 ..."

I realize that your focus might on other topics right now - following
recent discussions on this list. 

But what are my options? Could I re-generate my own gadget or
kernel snap for rpi2? How is this done? Where is the code? Any pointers?
