upstream, other small differences can indeed simply be smaller binaries
the compiler manages to create due to CPU features ...
... and then there is grub :) which makes up the largest part of
differences.
here is what amd64 ships additionally to arm64:

there are plans to seed grub in arm as well (arm64 at least) but
currently seeding it breaks the snappy package management on u-boot
based installs, once this is fixed and we seeded grub on all platforms
the numbers will be more similar.
