Kernel snap debug advice

I have what I think is a functional kernel snap for generic amd64.
git://kernel.ubuntu.com/rtg/kernel-snap.git master
I've been trying it out on a 15.04 KVM image without much success. For
example:
(amd64)ubuntu at localhost:~$ sudo snappy install --allow-unauthenticated
kernel-generic-amd64_1_amd64.snap
Installing kernel-generic-amd64_1_amd64.snap
2015/11/16 18:34:22.280402 verify.go:85: Signature check failed, but
installing anyway as requested
Name Date Version Developer
ubuntu-core 2015-11-13 10 ubuntu
kernel-generic-amd64 2015-11-16 IFbCOQDeRJfW sideload
webdm 2015-11-13 0.9.4 canonical
generic-amd64 2015-11-13 1.4 canonical
What is up with the kernel-generic-amd64 version ?
The snap appears to have installed correctly, but to where ? I also have
not been able to force an a|b change on reboot. Any help there ?
Once I get this amd64 snap working I'll also produce snaps for the other
reference kernels (and raspi2), as well as an example of how to snap a
kernel from source.
