does the above work if you replace "auto" with "vfat" in the /boot/uboot
line in /etc/fstab ?

it might also help if you could put the output of:

journalctl -a --no-pager

to a pastebin (like http://paste.ubuntu.com/ ) and post the url here, so
we can see the whole system log ...
