Building Ubuntu snappy from scratch

Hello all.

Is there any documentation about how to build a Ubuntu Snappy image
from scratch? I need to build a custom version for x86-64 which
includes a few more components, specially a X11 server and some cron
tasks. But I did not find any documentation about how to do that. I'm
happy with any scripts or directions :-)

I am also looking for some way of automatizing the update building
process. I already know how to start the update server
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ImageBasedUpgrades/ServerSetup), but not how
to create the update files.
