specifying configuration options for snappy

I'd like to be able to specify configuration options for a snappy package
that can be set on installation, as the typical post install config setup
from outside breaks the app/package encapsulation vs it advertising its own
config. End goal being to drive installation and customization of a package
via userdata/cloludinit when launching instances. ScottM showed me some
example syntax but said it wasn't supported atm. Is there any way to track
that feature (lp bug?).
