Here is an update on the highlights in the snap community for the
past week. This is a special one: starting today, a lot of snappy
developers, 3rd party app upstreams, distros leaders and
contributors are together for a week-long sprint in Heidelberg,
Germany!<br>
<br>

## Playpen<br>
<br>
You are starting to expect this, but we have a lot of new great
examples in the Playpen! Thanks to this amazing community for
allowing us to build expertise together, the repo now contains 44
examples, including the new:<br>
<br>
* ResidualVM, by LyzardKing<br>
* TexWorks, by LyzardKing<br>
* jTileDownloader, by dplanella<br>
* MirageOS, by elopio<br>
* Docker Compose, by elopio<br>
* QOwnNotes, by pbek<br>
* click-parser, by bhdouglass<br>
* 2048, by dholbach<br>
<br>
* The list of examples in the <a
href="https://github.com/ubuntu/snappy-playpen/blob/master/README.md">README</a>
has also been updated with tags, to let you see at a glance which
technologies/plugins/snapcraft features are used by each example.<br>
* The snaps upstreaming initiative is going strong as well, and more
info has been added to the <a
href="https://github.com/ubuntu/snappy-playpen/wiki/Upstreaming">getting
started upstreaming</a> page.<br>
<br>
## Community highlights<br>
<br>
* The <a href="http://openbuildservice.org/">Open Build Service</a>
by OpenSuse is <a
href="https://github.com/openSUSE/osc/blob/b6f7d1be6c9b58ca6bcd5a12f72652977d3935ba/NEWS">getting

* <a href="http://titania.create3000.de/">Titania</a>, an X3D
editor and browser, is <a

driving station for competition robots is <a
href="https://github.com/FRC-Utilities/QDriverStation/blob/master/etc/deploy/linux/snapcraft/snapcraft.yaml">getting

* The School of Engineering and Architecture of Fribourg has a
prominent telecom tower on top of its main building, covered with
leds, and has created a piece of software to display messages on it.
Unfortunately, I haven't found a good picture of it running, but <a
href="https://github.com/heia-fr/telecom-tower-snappy/blob/master/snapcraft.yaml">there
is a snap for it</a>!<br>
