Is Ubuntu Core gone?

There has not yet been a release of snappy Ubuntu Core based on Ubuntu
16.04 LTS.  The images that you saw there were of a different type,
previously referred to as "ubuntu core" but now renamed to "ubuntu base" to
eliminate confusion.
