You're right. The Rosetta hackers are working on this bug. Should be
fixed quite soon.

These "do-not-use" templates are unfortunate, and should be avoided
entirely. Carlos will grant me permission to fix them very soon, and
hopefully they will be rarely seen again. For now, I think the only
answer is to hold any gaim 1.5 translation, just in case they get lost.

The desktop strings were added to
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DesktopTranslations
but I think it's too late for Breezy now. Translate them just in case.
If not for breezy, they will appear in Dapper in any case.

Re menu items: which ones? If they are not covered by the wiki page,
they should be in either gnome-menus or gnome-panel.
