cups (1.4.5-1ubuntu3) natty; urgency=low
* debian/rules: Added "--with-local_protocols='CUPS dnssd'
--with-remote_protocols='CUPS dnssd'" to the command line of "./configure".
This adds support for DNS-SD-based browsing and broadcasting by default.
* debian/control: Removed the build and run-time dependencies on
avahi-daemon again. With the fixes on the cups-avahi.dpatch CUPS
works also without running Avahi daemon now. Put avahi-daemon only
into Recommends: for the "cups" package, as DNS-SD broadcasting
makes CUPS working together with Mac OS X.
* debian/patches/ubuntu-upstart.dpatch: Removed any interaction between CUPS
and avahi-daemon, as the improved cups-avahi.dpatch lets CUPS automatically
connect with avahi-daemon as soon as it gets started.
* debian/patches/cups-avahi.dpatch: Fixed several segfaults by adding missing
initializations and NULL checks, made Avahi client stopping and restarting
when the Avahi daemon disappears and reappears, to make CUPS running
independently on the Avahi daemon but with DNS-SD services while the Avahi
daemon is running.
