Debian menu 2.1.38Ubuntu2

Hi All,

Menu 2.1.38 is contained in Synapic and I have installed into new distro
Hardy 8.04, however it does not show anywhere in the system and is not available from the application list.    How can I correct this, I have installed on my other machine that I upgraded and it is still available for use.  However on new install does not work!!!   Please direct for solution.
