The first plan is still somehow Xubuntu related, but can also benefit on
other non-gnome-centered flavors. On xfce, libgnome2* dependencies are
often a pain, since it often results on installing lots of dependencies
for a single app. There are already some apps providing a
--without-gnome flag to only link against gtk (i.e. evince, goffice).
Therefore I am interested in helping out maintaining these multi build
rules and providing 'degnomizing' patch to upstream.
The second is related to cd recording. Despite the work of the Desktop
and Kubuntu Teams, there are still many stopper bugs that are very
annoying for new users. I am already involved in the Ubuntu Burning
Team, and I'd like to help out tracking/fixing all these bugs (I focused
on universe packages until now) and promoting better solutions, such as
brasero to respond to the lack of actively maintained gtk cd recording
apps, and libburnia as a replacement to cdrecord/growisofs stuff.
I think that's mostly it for 'global' issues.
