Hello Scott,

thanks for your long mail. It's great to hear about your plans and it's
great to have you working on them.

I'd be happy if you could work some more with the MOTU team before
become a MOTU yourself. It'd be nice to have feedback from more people
about your packaging skills and more evidence of your work on
https://launchpad.net/~scottritchie/+packages

When granting MOTU membership, it's not just a matter of technical
skills but also about the knowledge of the social processes and evidence
of team play.

I'd very much like you to get a few uploads done the usual way
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SponsorshipProcess) and I'm convinced that if
you put some good efforts in it, you'll become a MOTU if you re-apply in
a few weeks.

Please don't task this as discouragement, but an invitation to get to
know you better as team player in the MOTU world.

Have a nice day,
 Daniel
