If you can find the time, I highly recommend sitting through John 
Carmack's recent talk from the Oculus conference:

It's interesting to see that the performance and latency problems Oculus 
is solving for VR and Android are often the same issues we face in Mir.

Also nice to see I'm not the only one thinking about 90's style single 
buffer vsync racing :)
