<div dir="ltr"><div><b>Annoucement</b> </div><div>MAAS 1.10 is an interim, transitional release between 1.9 and 2.0, aimed at providing full support of MAAS in Xenial until MAAS 2.0 is released. This transition</div><div>is required due to recent changes in core dependencies used by MAAS, namely Django and Python 3, and only for users who would like to run MAAS in Xenial:</div><div><br></div><div> * Python 3.5 has now been made the default Python version in Ubuntu Xenial.</div><div>   As such, MAAS 1.10 has moved away from supporting Python 2 to support</div><div>   Python 3.5. While MAAS itself has been ported to Python 3.5, the team</div><div>   has made great effort at porting other MAAS core dependencies.</div><div><br></div><div> * Django 1.8 has been made available in Ubuntu Xenial. Starting from</div><div>   Django 1.7, migrations are now handled by a native migration system</div><div>   instead of South. This has made Django backwards incompatible. As such,</div><div>   MAAS 1.10+ has gained support for Django 1.8 and dropped support for</div><div>   Django < 1.7.</div><div><br></div><div>Note that while MAAS 1.9 could still be run with Python 2 and Django 1.6 in</div><div>Xenial, the MAAS team is no longer supporting it in Xenial only. MAAS 1.9</div><div>support will remain in Trusty until its EOL, however, for users running</div><div>Xenial they are required to upgrade to MAAS 1.10 (or later).</div><div><br></div><div><b>Availability</b></div><div>You can find MAAS 1.10 for Xenial in:</div><div><br></div><div>ppa:maas/next</div><div><br></div><div>MAAS 1.10 is also being made available in Ubuntu Xenial.</div><div><br></div><div><div style="font-size:12.8px"><b>Filing bugs</b></div><div style="font-size:12.8px">As this is a transitional release, some issues may still be present. If you come across an issue, please file bugs in [1], please use a prefix for the subject such as [1.10].</div><div style="font-size:12.8px"><br></div><div style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px"><a href="https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+filebug" target="_blank">https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+filebug</a></span></div></div><div><br></div><div>Happy Testing!</div><div><br></div>-- <br><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr">Andres Rodriguez<div>Engineering Manager, MAAS</div><div>Canonical USA, Inc.</div></div></div></div></div></div></div>
