Hi Daniel,
It sounds that you need to select 'sde' as your 'Boot' disk (as well as
your root disk). You can do this in the UI (Used disks and partitions), or
you can do it via the API/CLI like:
maas <user> block-device set-boot-disk <node-system-id> sde
That said, you could event leave /dev/sda as your root disk, and set the
'Boot' flag to '/dev/sde/ if you so desire.
