Thanks for putting a fix up for review.
fwiw, we have a manual CI job that you can use to run the CI tests on a
custom branch
(http://d-jenkins.ubuntu-ci:8080/view/MAAS/job/utopic-adt-maas-manual/).
I'm running it now on your branch to see it fixes the problem.
