<html><head></head><body><div style="color:#000; background-color:#fff; font-family:Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, Lucida Grande, sans-serif;font-size:16px"><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1486444996360_3134">hello. i would like to inquire about future plan for lubuntu compatible software</div><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1486444996360_3555"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1486444996360_3282">i just did a day 1 re-install of a laptop for a friend (laptop had reveiced very little love while being stored in the wrong warehouse. its received hits, viruses and had part stolen, etc) <br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1486444996360_3281"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1486444996360_3188">it was iniatialy a vista and had been converted to window 7. so after failing to change it to window 10 and vanilla unbuntu. i decided to use your operating system : lubuntu wich (in term of system requirement) fitted the need and capacity of the laptop completely.</div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1486444996360_3227"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1486444996360_3544">i even had the pleasant surprise to learn that it was compatible with vanilla unbuntu software (i though)</div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1486444996360_3545"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1486444996360_3549">but to my great sadness, the software page have failed to install the steam package and i can't seem to find a great variety of software (even though VLC media player devloper do have an unbuntu release.</div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1486444996360_3554"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1486444996360_3612">is there something i missunderstood about the backward compatibility between lubuntu software and ubuntu software ?<br></div></div></body></html>
