Walter

If you are asking for information so that the Lubuntu 16.04.1
Live CD will actually run on systems like mine then I am all to
willing to proved any information to assist.

If you see the problem as me not being able to run Lubuntu 16.04
then you are trying to solve the wrong problem.

I am running 16.0.1 on this machine which I got by doing a
forced distro upgrade while waiting for 16.04.1 to be released.

As I have told you I can use the Live CD 14.04 and Xubuntu on
this machine or my other machine a HP G61 notetbook and the try OS
before installing works fine. This is not the case with Lubuntu
16.04.1 where the graphics get screwed once the desktop appears.

In order to try various distros I of course use a VM Oracle
Virtual Box and again the graphic are screwed How ever many times
      I download the ISO.

I state the obvious

1) Lubuntu is recommended as being a good system for beginners
and those with older low specification machines. (Chris Were You
      tube) https://www.reddit.com/r/ChrisWereDigital/

2) In order to get people whose hardware falls into the low end
of the performance spectrum to examine a Linux system people would
be advised to Try a Live CD and make up their own mind on how
suitable that distro is to them and their hardware.

3) With those two salient pieces of information it is not
unreasonable to expect the user to get the latest version of the
operation system. Which when that was 14.04 there was no problem.
However with 16.04 there is at least on my type of machines. or
      VMs.

4) Can you tell me on what hardware the LiveCd "try before you
      install" was tested?

5) Finally it is not MY PROBLEM that has to be fixed it
is the malfunctioning of Lubuntu 16.04 Live CD. And that is so
that potential new users can try Lubuntu and have a better
      experience.

6) I fear that a user experiencing the problem I encountered
would conclude (wrongly) that Linux Sucks or that his/her
equipment is to old or slow to run the best OS for old slow
computers.He/she might try installing a previous version but that
is a BIG might in my opinion.

As I have said I will provide you any information about my system
you ask for. You might reply with well there is the nomodeset
switch. While you and I know this the new inexperienced user will
not. !4.04 ran out of the box and I would expect the same to be
      true for 16.04.

Here because you asked for this information is my system output.
