I just updated Lubuntu on my RasPi 3 from 15.10 to 16.04. Mostly it<br>
has gone very smoothly, and glxgears performance has gone from ~20fps<br>
to ~90fps, a very gratifying increase.<br>

When I ran rpi-update on 15.10, I got kernel 4.4. This survived the<br>
update to 16.04.<br>
<br>
However, then, when I ran ``apt-get dist-upgrade'', it went back down<br>
again, to kernel 4.1.<br>
<br>
I'd like to switch back to the newer kernel, but I can't find instructions how.<br>
<br>
The RasPi is an ARM device, without a BIOS or UEFI, and the GPU boots<br>
the system. There's no conventional bootloader and I can't get u-boot<br>
to install correctly, so it's not just a matter of changing GRUB --<br>
there is no GRUB.<br>

Does anyone have any ideas or pointers, please?<br>
