I am sorry to hear about this...
I wish PPC was more supported, but I am not entirely sure what
else you can do.
There is of course the kernel bisection route... but that is a
LONG process of checking many builds of the kernel to see where
the problem started... You'd have to talk to the Ubuntu Kernel
team for more on how to do this, as I am no kernel dev.
Thanks for the reply, that's what I was thinking, the dev
who posted the suggestion did not reply back to my bug
post saying, "This is PPC" . . . . Appreciate the link to
building kernel, don't know if I have time to learn . . .
maybe I'll get there . . . .
In terms of the 14.10 "test" . . . that's sort of where this
latest stuff started, the alternate & liveDVD of 14.10
PPC would not boot past the yaboot window . . . also filed a
bugz report on that one . . . .

On another topic, noticing that FF is crashing in PPC linux,
and then today Ten4Fox 31.1.0 crashed out of a gmail window .
. . . It's "contagious" I guess . . . .
Hi Fritz,
you cannot install 386 or 64 bit on PPC... you
may have to install a
kernel by compiling it if you really want the
new kernel.

Alternatively you could test 14.10 which has the
newer kernel (3.16.0)

A live CD should be enough to test...
