That is truly an odd error to have.. it is almost as if no display
manager is installed.<br>
Can you double check to make sure you have a display manager
installed?<br>
Simply, <br>
sudo apt-get install ligthdm<br>
Should be enough to get an idea.<br>
Usually the display manager takes care of hooking the tty to X.<br>
This is just my first guess here...<br>
