The entry in menu of the app is "Screenshot", so that is no help. <br></div></blockquote><div><br></div><div>Sometimes it helps, sometimes it does not, that is why I suggested the other way.</div><div><br>

But the other way, looking in task manager actually disclosed its
'secret' name. <br>

I had to sort the entries by "Command", but when I did that, and
carefully searched through the long list, the only entry that
suggested it might be connected with taking a screenshot, was
called:<br>

I looked up that package in Synaptic Package Manager, and found it
to be installed. <br>

So this method does allow you to find out the 'secret' name of the
package an application comes from. <br><span class="HOEnZb"><font color="#888888">

</blockquote></div>The name of an application should not be a secret :D</div><div class="gmail_extra">The trick is, to know the package name that if you run on the Terminal, you can open that application. </div><div class="gmail_extra">
<br></div><div class="gmail_extra">For example, to run "Chromium", you need to type: 'chromium-browser'. </div><div class="gmail_extra">To run say leafpad, you need to type 'leafpad. And so on.</div>
<div class="gmail_extra"><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">So, Nio's suggestion is helpful to learn the package name that match the application name. Once you know that, you no longer need Synaptic or any Software Center to install/remove your apps :)</div>
