What you could try is either using an older gnupg version like the one from quantal <a href="http://packages.ubuntu.com/quantal/gnupg" type="url">http://packages.ubuntu.com/quantal/gnupg</a> Or try a different version of enigmail or thunderbird combination. GnuPG works from the shell. The key can be used to encrypt and decrypt from the shell Nio asked that the other day. In LXDE, there is not even a prompt to enter the passphrase - not even once. Instead of asking for a passphrase, it just fails. There's not even an error message, I have to open 'details' to get the information posted above.
