<br>What I'm suggesting is simply having an out-of-the-box working 'minimum' Lubuntu System with the least basic packages only (Browser + PCManFM+lightdm+other needed packages) so that the type of users who are looking for such option don't really have to do anything but to download and install :)<br>
<br>So, I guess you are right but I thought it is better to explain further :)<br><br><br>> Such an ISO is not mentioned on the wiki, because it does not yet exist.<br><br><div>Yes, that is why I'm suggesting to have one if possible, of course.<div>
<br></div><div><div><br>> This would mean another seed file, and another ISO to test... seems like<br>> significant work, unless there are reasonably large numbers of users<br>> that would would benefit.<br>Yes, it means extra work but IMHO, that could be useful and no, I have no data as of now. We can obtain such if needed and I can do it.</div>
<div><br></div><div><br></div><div>> Ali: What is the use case for this proposed ISO? What range of machine<br>> hardware specs do you expect it would install on and be useful on, that<br>> the current Lubuntu ISOs cannot install onto? Who is the "target<br>

How many such people are there out there<br>> who would use it, if it existed?</div><div><br></div><div>The use case, IMHO, would be:</div><div><br></div><div>1- Offer an option for people who just need a working system and they can build it by adding the packages they want but it is not really like installing Ubuntu mini ISO, it is a bit different as the basic Lubuntu Packages or Lubuntu Core [1] will be installed by default.</div>
<div><br></div><div>2- Last time I have checked (was a year or so, can't remember), the RAM Usage was LESS. This will be very helpful for really old machine and I'm not asking for a version that can be installed and expect to work on P2 with 64MB just like my machine [2], I'm talking about say P3 with 256MB RAM or less. P2 with 64MB? you CAN <b>install</b> but you can NOT use. I have tested that and the system is not usable. </div>
<div><br></div><div style>These are the main two use case in my mind as of now.</div><div style>As for how many, as I mentioned, I can check this out.</div><div style><br></div><div style><br></div><div>> My instinct is that this might be more appropriately done as an<br>

><br>> Jonathan<br>><br><br>If you mean by "just do it" is to 'test' it, then I don't mind, this is what I'm doing right now while typing this :)</div><div>If you mean by "just do it" is to 'create that ISO', then I'm not the right one for this, that is on the first place why I'm sending these emails :D</div>
<div><br></div><div style>By the way, I have two Qs here:</div><div style><br></div><div style>A- Is this package: <a href="http://i42.tinypic.com/3588nx3.jpg">http://i42.tinypic.com/3588nx3.jpg</a></div><div style>equal to this: <a href="http://packages.ubuntu.com/raring/lubuntu-core">http://packages.ubuntu.com/raring/lubuntu-core</a> ???</div>
<div style><br></div><div style>B- Why I fail to find a browser on this: <a href="http://packages.ubuntu.com/raring/lubuntu-core">http://packages.ubuntu.com/raring/lubuntu-core</a></div><div style><br></div><div style>Thank you!</div>
