Ali,

if people are not registered to vote, it is not really our fault. The mailing list has been the way to allow people to follow a discussion, try out the options and decide which way - if any, to cast their vote. It wouild, IMHO, be much better to ecourage people to join the ML. e-mail is ideal for those who do not like IRC (or because of TZ cannot be there for a vote) and those who do not want the bother of creating a forum account and then keep checking in order to keep up to date with what is being voted on.

I remember the poll, not much time ago, on this mailing list (well, the old one) and voters can push a +1 or a -1 to any suggestion. It was quick but I still remember it. Maybe you weren't here at that point.

But there will be more polls when a new app appears, like what happened with GucView, that was voted over Cheese.
Hi,

No doubt you were before me and know more about Lubuntu than myself but if I may, "who" is deciding whether "abc" application is needed or essential to a distro or not? based on what? I'd appreciate if you or anyone else could explain this process :)

Yes, we can't please everyone (apparently I'm one of those :D) but I see NO harm in working harder to be as close as possible. This is my personal opinion and as everyone knows, I'm NOT a developer but was, still and will keep talking about Lubuntu as a user first of all then as a member of this wonderful family :)
A clipboard manager was in Lubuntu at one time. When we were looking at what we could get rid of nobody was using it, so out it went. I think it's one of those things that a few people know about and use but not essential to a distro.

As for guidelines. The simple answer is - is it needed. The point of a this distro is to supply the basic functions for everyday use. Other distros, such as Ubuntu Studio, are the same but more specialised. In the case of Studio it is to supply a basic but functional music and/or art studio.
