I think you are right. I'm trying to figure out what I need to change in the configuration files.

At least I'm narrowing down where the issue resides.

Seeing this data sort of looks like the problems I reported with an error message in response to opening the home folder and the other desktop items . . . ???  With the subsequent exclamation point over the icon?
