[lubuntu-users] Bionic B Lu - NEXT 18.04 --how to run OS upgrade via console?

Folks:

I posted some feedback about Lu Next 18.04 and having some issues with
certain apps (which I've forgotten what they were) . . . Simon replied
suggesting that I try to move up to the "next" version of Next . . .
18.10??  Didn't have time to mess with it, but today I tried to run "apt
do-release-upgrade" . . . and it "E'd" out with

"E: Invalid operation do-release-upgrade" . . . any other commands to run
to try to jump up without doing a fresh install?  I tried to change the
Software Updater to "any new version" . . . but running the command in
console again after that shows my 18.04 is "up to date" . . . nothing
offered to jump up to the newer Next???
