If you like needlessly installing extra things that are intended for
desktop environments you don't have (GNOME) and that will pull in a
bunch of totally unnecessary dependencies, do this.
Otherwise:
1. Open the menu
2. Mouse over Preferences
3. Mouse over LXQt settings
4. Click on Openbox settings
5. Click Desktops
6. Change the value of "Number of desktops"
