Ian:
If you can get to a tty shell you can try to install apport and then run
the apport command with the LP number of the bug . . . although that
sometimes could get tricky if there is no graphics driver, I'm recalling
from a similar situation where the console launches the browser when you
are trying to use the console to report bugs . . . and if the GUI isn't
working you can't see the browser window to log into LP, then it won't
accept your data to LP . . . . But, might be worth trying??? Other
question is did you run "update/upgrade" after your install?? That
sometimes will fix install issues, the easy way . . . ???
