Hi,

I have been trying to install pavucontrol package but I can't get it to work under Lubuntu 16.04.2. When I try to run it from the terminal, I get:
`pavucontrol: error while loading shared libraries: libatkmm-1.6.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory`
Consequently, I installed libatkmm-1.6 with a dozen of other packages, but still no luck.
Has anyone got Pulse Audio Volume Control to work under Lubuntu 16.04 ?

Regards.

Heima,

I too use Pulse Audio Volume Control via the GUI on 16.04 with no
problems. I did however, find a work-around/fix for [Bug 881797] Re:
pavucontrol will not launch missing lib fresh 64 bit xubuntu install
[https://lists.launchpad.net/ubuntustudio-bugs/msg04315.html]. A poster
named Thelamer suggested reinstalling the libraries. This was from
almost a year ago, but I think it's new enough and Xubuntu is similar
enough to Lubuntu that this should still work. I have *not* tested it
myself:

sudo apt-get --reinstall install libsigc++-2.0-0v5 libpangomm-1.4-1v5
libcairomm-1.0-1v5 libglibmm-2.4-1v5 libatkmm-1.6-1v5
