[lubuntu-users] Wiki editors team: joining for 1st time

Hello, my name is Derald and I just requested to be a Wiki editor. I
followed instructions on how to join the Lubuntu community, and one step
was to create a Wiki page based on one's own username:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/GettingInvolved

But I was unable to edit/create a page.

The instructions did not mention that one needs to first request to join a
Wiki editors team. I found that here instead:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HelpContents

Since I will be awaiting administrator approval, I would like to mention a
few of my interests for getting involved with Lubuntu development: 3D
printing (we have built a RepRap printer but I would rather not use Windows
to control it), video games, and promoting Linux in my own communities.

At the moment I have 2 HP netbooks with Lubuntu 16 installed, and a few
computers which have only Windows and are seldom or never used.

I am still an amateur user of Lubuntu, having switched from Ubuntu recently
because of compatibility issues with upgrades. But I want get involved with
the community to the extent I am able. My educational background is in
Chemistry and Materials Science, and I took one course in C++.

All the best,

Derald
