There are a couple of ways to do this more easily.

1. Get a friend to install it on an old computer that they have knocking
around somewhere.

2. Get that friend to install it on your computer.

It is worthwhile using a search engine to find out about ( local ) Linux
User Groups as they will gladly help you get started.
