Hi again,
Feedback: I installed
xserver-xorg-video-intel
in my old IBM Thinkcentre 8187-73G (with a Pentium 4 CPU and) with Intel
82865G graphics.
I needed nomodeset for the graphics to work with Lubuntu 16.04 LTS, but
now it works without any tweaks. The /etc/X11/xorg.conf file with the
tweak was renamed by the installation (and hence made inactive I guess).
So it works with Intel 82865G graphics. What about the other old Intel
chips?
If there is more positive feedback, I'll make a new tarball and a new
compressed image file, that can be useful until we get new iso files
(Lubuntu 16.04.1 LTS is several months away, maybe late July or early
August).
Best regards
Nio
