"We" need more details in order to comment, what version of Lubuntu? what
"G4" are you working with?  What video card does it have?  Were you able to
boot the "live DVD" or perhaps USB system . . . **before** you tried to
install?

The "white screen" is a tad unusual . . . usually it is the "black screen"
that is the problem.  Possibly this relates to an "installer" problem?
There can be some "issues" with trying to install to the PPC iMac 800 which
has some multiple port for display problems and therefore you might need to
get or make an "xorg.conf" file for your machine.  Have you tried that?
Might have to do it "blind" or without screen . . . unless you can get to a
TTY . . . google is your friend on that one.
