Loss of keyboard functionality with Google Chrome and Lubuntu 14.4.1

Under 14.04.1 32-bit desktop and the current version (39.0.x) of Chrome, 
I'm not seeing the keyboard bug on two different machines I just 
tested.  Both run whatever the default configuration is for IBUS, and on 
US layout PS/2 keyboards.
