dead keys

Dear all,

I used Lubuntu 14.04 for a long time, but last days the dead keys are
suddenly gone.
I checked >Preferences >Lxkeymap and find that the Current keymap is:
us(intl).

When I choose English (US, international with dead keys) and click on
Apply, but it does not help.

Did anyone have a simiar problem? What can be the solution?
