Lubuntu + MATE? Compatible? or issues?

Fritz:

To check this out, I updated my Ubuntu-MATE 14.10 partition of my Dell
Inspiron 620 machine. Though my machine is 64-bit, the OS installed is
32-bit.

The updates (beyond the last time I updated it) did not include a new
kernel. I re-checked for updates, and it declares my system to be
up-to-date.

I did not encounter any problems with it - even after I re-booted (just
in case).
