Hi,
First of all, what version of Lubuntu are you running?
And if you followed the thread did you:
sudo apt-get remove --purge bcmwl-kernel-source
Then reboot your machine.
This is usually my main issue when dealing with b43.
You really shouldn't need to modprobe or hand edit any files. If you
did, I hope you made a backup :)
I have used the b43 module on many computers.
could you also post the output of:
lspci | grep Network
