Top posting:

Could anyone be kind enough to either show me the commands to "get the
upstream kernel" for PPC in the Terminal, or if there is any significance
to the choice of the i386 .deb or the amd64 .deb? I replied back asking
this on the bug report, but no reply . . . probably would be easier with
the Terminal commands that would gather the items and install them . . . .
Then I could test to see if the newer kernel fixes the failure to wake from
suspend issue in 14.04 PPC.

[QUOTE: J Salisbery] Did this issue occur in a previous version of Ubuntu,
or is this a new
issue?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.17 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not
boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-
upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.
