How Do You Restore The Application Menu?

Rafael:

I managed to fix the problem.

I examined the ".config/lxpanel/Lubuntu/panels/panel" file in my home
directory on another Lubuntu 13.10 machine, and found that the following
lines were missing from that file of the system I 'destroyed':

Plugin {
     type = menu
     Config {
         image=/usr/share/lubuntu/images/lubuntu-logo.png
         system {
         }
         separator {
         }
         item {
             command=run
         }
         separator {
         }
         item {
             image=gnome-logout
             command=logout
         }
     }
}

I restored those lines, and then on rebooting, the application launch
menu was restored to my task-bar.

My primary system is saved!

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
