I can't install anything new on this machine until later in the evening
and ubuntu-bug goes to FF for now.  Right now lynx works because I
always have it on new machines, so I can do a manual report though
Launchpad is hard to navigate through the many steps needed to introduce
a new bug report manually.

However, the problem we see is probably not with Firefox or the other
browsers themselves.  Which piece is causing the problem?  glibc?

I've tried to add bug #1284103 which went a little clumsily using lynx.
