lxterminal is a bit more user friendly. Try that.

If you must use a xterm derivative, just highlight the text and it's
automatically copied. Shift-Insert will paste.

Still, it's probably best to use Pastebin and share the results here. You
can make it really easy with the pastebinit package. It's as simple as:
dmesg | pastebinit
