Audio malfunctioning

Hi!

open a terminal and type
alsamixer
you will see some columns switch through the colums and unmute them  if
they are muted (push the 'm' key)
And also, turn up the volume on each item.

You can also install pavucontrol
(pulse audio volume control)
And look through those tabs to make sure everything is in order...

This is the first thing I'd try...
