autostart application

Hi,

I'm having difficulty finding out how to get applications to start up automatically on login in Lubuntu 12.04. I've been working with the autostart .desktop files. There is a dropbox file in there. I copied the contents and changed the info to the fit the programs that I would like start at login. No results though. I use LXLE. If anybody has some good documentation send it my way.
