Federico:

"xfce4-power-manager 1.2.0" (from help-about) automatically appears in 
my taskbar on my primary development system.  This is on a 13.10 i386 
Lubuntu system upgraded from 13.04.

It seems it started appearing in my taskbar without any effort on my 
part to put it there, about a month ago (when I was still on 13.04).
