Hi

does dhcliebnt still work on Lubuntu, i seem to get the following when
running it

psutton at e-machines:~$ sudo dhclient
[sudo] password for psutton:

RTNETLINK answers: File exists
psutton at e-machines:~$

at one time it used to poll the router for each interface and come up
with either a new ip address or nothing at all ,  no nothing happens
apart from the above   

if it helps

psutton at e-machines:~$ cat /etc/network/interfaces
# interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8)
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback


I am sure there is a file somewhere that specifies if ip addresses are
static or dynamic and allows sections to be commented or the sections
needed for static to be set manually,
