There is a complication to continue with Ubuntu 10.04 desktop. Those
packages not included in the server edition won't receive any updates
(not even security updates) which was also discussed in the following link

Each user can select to upgrade or stay without security updates, but we
can help describing the risks, advantages and disadvantages.
