Lubuntu with Realtek 8187

Hi,

I have a USB Wifi interface with a RealTek 8187 chip. Lubuntu does not
recognize it and ifconfig -a does not show it. I have never been able to
make recent version of any Ubuntu flavor work well with this inferface.
But it usually at least recognizes it. My Lubuntu does not recognize it,
nothing happens when I plug it in. What would be a fix for this?
