What are the specs of your notebook? Are you using an ATI video card?
Seems your note has not opengl support. And that's strange. Could you
gently try the other cairo-dock installed? The one without opengl support.
Fake transparency is used when you have not a composite manager enabled.
To see if you had problem with compton open a terminal and write:
killall compton
compton -cCb
Then report what happened.
